When deciding to dine out in Connecticut, there’s no doubt you can find many restaurants serving up tasty eats. There are also plenty of places that have a unique atmosphere. But if you’re looking for both — Zip’s Diner never disappoints. It has a retro vibe straight out of the 50s and the decade’s old lunch car diner can always be counted on for their delicious food.

Since 1954, Zip’s Diner has been tempting hungry customers into its dining car with its neon “EAT” sign and the promise of a tasty meal. The original diner was established in 1946 in Danielson but was moved to its current location in Dayville in the 1950s.

Zip’s retains its old-school charm with counter seating and booths covered in vinyl and edged in chrome. While the diner has seen a handful of celebrities in its lifetime, it’s the locals who fill the seats again and again.
