The only thing we love more than winter is spring. The only thing we love more than spring is summer. The only thing we love more than eating seafood in the summer is eating dessert. What kind of dessert do we love best? Ice cream, of course! And the only thing we love more than an ice cream cone in Maine is a huge ice cream cone in Maine. You’ll find that and more at this beloved spot.
Scoop Deck in Wells got its start in the 1980s when Suzanne Erskine Fretwell began the fledgling business out of her parents home.
Sam S / TripAdvisor It officially opened in 1983 and saw two full summers of operation before she turned the business over to her brother, Doug. Doug Erskine has run the shop ever since, growing the business exponentially. His son, Scott, joined the team in 2006 and in 2012, Scott’s wife, Emily, joined the business. In 2013, the parking lot was expanded and the barn added making this a one-stop shop of all things ice cream!
