In most cases, it has come from a huge corporate milling operation. But there’s one little family-owned mill in Nebraska that’s still doing things the old-fashioned way.
Waneta Roller Mills, located in beautiful little Wauneta, Nebraska, has been standing since 1925.

Although much has changed at the mill since the early days, some things have remained just as they were way back then. The roll/reel machine used today is the original, as are some of the other working parts of the mill.

The products are still poured into hand-stitched cloth bags, and the entire operation is overseen by a dedicated husband-and-wife team who are involved in every step of the process.

The products produced here are known as Waneta’s Best, both in name and reputation. Made with locally-grown wheat with no additives, this is some of the most consistently high-quality flour you’ll find in the US.
