Right now, there is a unique art exhibit at the Tulsa Zoo that’s made from trash collected in the ocean. “Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea” features 11 gigantic sculptures that are quite spectacular. The exhibit is at the zoo until January, before it moves on to another location.

The Tulsa Zoo is located on the north side of town near Sheridan Road. It’s located on 85-acres in Mohawk Park and is open to the public 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea” is a traveling art exhibit that is at the Tulsa Zoo for the first time ever and you can visit now until January 5, 2020.

The exhibit consists of 11 sculptures, all made from debris found in the ocean off the coast of southern Oregon.

The Directors from the exhibit hope to bring awareness on how bad the ocean trash problem is worldwide.

Some of the water bottles they found were from the 2008 Beijing Olympics and by 2050 Scientists predict there will be more pounds of plastic garbage in the ocean than we have actual, live fish in the ocean.

Sculptures include a 6-foot-tall river otter, an 11-foot-tall penguin, a giant turtle, and bright orange fish.
