Maine does a lot of things right. Farms, nature trails, mountains, beaches and pie! In addition to that, we also have some of the most fun wacky attractions and oddities. The one we’re sharing with you today is certainly one of the most unique, but it also happens to be one of the most delicious. Of all the farms in Maine, this one takes the cake…err, pie!

There are plenty of farms to visit in Maine - especially as we get closer to the summer. But, Wild Blueberry Land in Columbia Falls is definitely one of our favorites.

One part farm, one part store and one part amusement park, this massive blueberry-shaped building on the side of the road offers more than you might think.

Wild Blueberry Land is the creation of Dell and Marie Emerson, who have been devoted to blueberries for more than 30 years!

In fact, Dell’s knowledge comes from the 53 years he spent working on the only wild blueberry research farm in America, located at the University of Maine.

Things here are delicious because Marie is an award-winning chef who has taught for 30 years in the Maine Community College system.

Their farmland is made up of nearly 160 acres above the Pleasant River known for Wild Atlantic Salmon.

And together, they’ve focused on preserving Maine’s commercially grown wild blueberry crops, which is one of the country’s last!

You can explore the land here, but we recommend you go inside to explore the store and the pies!

Everything on the outside is centered around the theme of blueberries, but inside you’ll find the actual blueberries.
