This zany tourist attraction can be found in the town of Piercy, California. Its big claim to fame is its title as the “tallest one-room house in the world”, given to it by Ripley’s Believe-It-Or-Not all the way back in 1933.

The World Famous Tree House can be found in a giant redwood that stands at over 250-feet-tall and is estimated to be around 4,000-years-old. If that wasn’t impressive enough, it also contains a hollow 50-foot high cavity which makes up the tree house.

The tree center was actually hollowed out hundreds of years ago, but the tree house was officially created in the 1920s when a businessman built the doors and windows. Despite all of this, the tree is actually still alive!

Visitors can enter the tree house through the attached Gift Shop. The shop sells all sorts of funky souvenirs and odd items. Entry into the actual tree house costs just a few bucks and helps keep this odd attraction running. The inside of the house is dark and you can’t see a lot, but it’s pretty amazing to think that you’re actually standing inside of an ancient redwood tree!

Beside the tree house, the area contains an enchanting roadside charm that you can’t help but love. Decorated with vintage signs and impressive chainsaw sculptures, the attraction feels timeless and it makes for a good place to take a few pictures and walk around for a bit.
