North Dakota’s only natural waterfall is hidden deep within a forest that requires quite a hike, but there is another waterfall you can visit elsewhere in the state. This one has an extremely short and sweet trail right to it. It’s a beautiful, scenic site anyone can enjoy, thanks to the minimal walking required. Here’s everything you need to know about it:
In Turtle River State Park, located west of Grand Forks, North Dakota, there is a lovely and incredibly easy trail you can take to see a charming waterfall.

The trail is only 0.65 miles long and is an easy loop that begins and ends in the same place.

It’s called the Fisher Loop and you’ll start at the CCC shelter in the park. Begin at the trailhead located next to the shelter. It should only take you a short amount of time to reach the waterfall from the start of the loop trail.

This scenic little waterfall is one of very few in North Dakota. It may not be natural, but it looks stunning as the focal point along the creek.

You could spend hours listening to the water spill over the stones in this peaceful spot. It is totally serene and worth the very small effort to get to it just to bask in the serene setting.

The trail continues beyond the waterfall. It goes over the river and continues alongside into a lush, wooded area. It loops around and heads back to the CCC shelter after an easy, quick trail. It is well worth the extra time to keep walking the entire loop, as opposed to going back the way you came.
