Nevada is definitely a state that is proud of its history and we try to preserve it whenever possible. You can see this in all of the historic buildings that still remain standing across our state to this very day. One of the most impressive instances of preserving a piece of our state’s history can be found at this wonderfully converted restaurant in the small town of Dayton. This historic structure has been used for a variety of businesses from an old-fashioned general store to a seedy neighborhood bar, but it’s currently home to a fantastic Italian eatery that is well worth checking out. Visit this restaurant and enjoy a meal in one of our state’s oldest buildings!

Hiding in the heart of Old Town Dayton is a beautiful historic structure that looks straight out of the Old West. Originally constructed all the way back in 1860, the building has been home to a variety of businesses. Today, it’s where you’ll find Js’ Old Town Bistro.

Js’ Bistro opened to the public in 2007. Before it was an Italian restaurant, the 159-year-old structure was initially home to a general store, several saloons, restaurants, and even an ice cream parlor. There’s definitely a lot of history hiding in this stone and timber building!

It was perhaps most famous for once containing the Old Corner Bar, which was said to be the hangout of John Huston, Marilyn Monroe, and Arthur Miller when they were filming “The Misfits” in 1960.

Today, the restaurant boasts a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. They specialize in tasty Italian-style dishes, such as Chicken Parmesan, Braised Short Ribs, Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, and so much more.

There’s no way you’ll be able to resist ordering from their vast selection of delicious appetizers. With choices ranging from Italian Egg Rolls to Calamari, you could easily stuff yourself on these smaller plates before even getting to the main course.

They also boast a build-your-own pasta option, where you can compile your own combination of pasta, sauce, and meat. Delicious Italian food is one of the last things you’d expect in a quaint town like Dayton, but Js’ Bistro totally delivers.
