Covering over 120,000 acres, the ancient lake is one of the largest bodies of water in the state. That means there are also plenty of beaches that are perfect for enjoying the lake’s endless beauty. Out of all of them, Sandhole Beach is a must.

The aptly named beach can be found on the southwestern portion of the lake. Here you’ll be treated to a soft and sandy shoreline and direct access to Pyramid lake’s vibrant blue water.

Keep in mind that the lake is part of Paiute Tribal Land. Respectful visitors are more than welcome, but a permit is required to enjoy any of the lake’s beaches. Permit prices can vary depending on what you plan to do at the lake, but Day Use permits generally cost $10.
