Anthony Bourdain is recognized as one of the most influential celebrity chefs in recent times. Though he was known for traveling the world in search of weird and wonderful deliveries, Bourdain actually hailed from New Jersey.
His home state is paying tribute to the food phenomenon who tragically passed away in June of 2018 by opening an “Anthony Bourdain Food Trail” in his memory.
Pexels The trail will be composed of restaurants that Bourdain checked out while filming his hit show “Parts Unknown” in New Jersey. They include a wide variety of eateries, with many serving traditional Jersey fare like seafood and sandwiches.
After the trail was approved by the New Jersey legislature, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy stated that “a designated trail of Bourdain’s favorite dining spots is a fitting way to honor the memory of one of New Jersey’s best-known chefs. Even after international fame, he never forgot his Jersey roots. Each episode, Bourdain brought his homegrown wit, charm, and sense of humanity to his viewers. He became a New Jersey food icon.”
