Opened in 1971, the Tattered Cover was initially located in a modest 950-square-foot Cherry Creek shop with only 2 full-time employees, but quickly gained popularity and transformed into one of Colorado’s favorite stores!

By 1975, the store continued to expand quickly and then branched out into different locations in the early 1980s. By 2006, the Cherry Creek flagship store was no longer big enough to accommodate the shop and was moved to its current location on Colfax Ave.
