There are plenty of places to enjoy a weekend away in Maine. From the coast to the mountains to the trails to the lakes, whatever scenery and natural surroundings you love Vacationland will provide them. While we’ve found the proliferation of upscale hotels along the coast fascinating (30 years ago would you have guessed that people would pay $500 a night to sleep here?!) we always have preferred the more local spots. Bed and breakfasts have our heart, but this little revamped motel reminds us of car trips from childhood.
The updated version of the classic Maine motel was orchestrated by Alice Amory in the spring of 2015.
