When Michael Langenstein and his two sons, George and Richard, decided to open a supermarket in 1922, their only goal was to carry the best meat and seafood in New Orleans.

They had no idea their humble little Uptown corner store would become the go-to spot for New Orleans for generations to come. They quickly outgrew their original space, and moved to Arabella Street in 1954.

Langenstein’s is still a family-owned and operated business, nearly 97 years later. Their success has enabled them to open two other locations over the years, one in Old Metairie and the other in River Ridge, so you’re never too far away from this timeless treasure.

Perfect for those times when you just don’t have the time in the day to make a meal from scratch, you can pop on over to Langenstein’s and grab one of their casseroles or party trays.
Their Le Popeye Dip is a fan favorite. This chopped spinach dip is blended with herbs and spices, cream cheese, sour cream, and green onions making it the perfect addition to your next party or event.
