The story goes that, back in the mid-1800s, restauranteur Peter Fernandez opened one of Hawaii’s first restaurants, using what was available from local farmers, ranchers, foragers, and fishermen. Roy Yamaguchi’s Eating House 1849 pays homage to the Aloha State’s vibrant culinary heritage by blending the simple flavors and casual ambiance of a plantation town with modernity of haute cuisine.

The diverse menu starts with the pupus, or appetizers. From chicken wings, pork and shrimp potstickers, lumpia, and poke to pork belly, crispy fried cauliflower and brussel sprouts, and calamari, you’re sure to find something your entire party will enjoy sharing.
