Bruges Waffles & Frites got its start as a humble food truck at the downtown Salt Lake City Farmers Market in 2004. Today, it has three locations and two food trucks, and its waffles are famous.

Waffles are not the only item this little restaurant is known for. Its Machine Gun Sandwich was featured on the television show “Man v. Food,” and it’s the best sausage sandwich in the state.

The Machine Gun sandwich is also known as a mitraillette in Belgium. The word literally translates to “machine gun” in English. This beauty is made with two Morgan Valley merguez sausages placed on a fresh-baked Vosen’s bun.

It’s topped with tons of delicious, golden fries, then drizzled with Andalouse, which is a tasty Belgian dipping sauce.
