The state park itself is made up of four areas, dividing up the 1,200-acre park into River Pond, Cedar Ridge, Fancy Creek, and Randolph. There are more than one hundred campsites of varying degrees of electric and water availability, and there are 500 primitive campsites.

Though camping is fun, there’s plenty to do here even if you don’t plan on staying more than a day. Lots of channel cat and flathead are ripe for reeling, as well as bass and bugeye.

Though the state park encompasses a beautiful area, there are almost 11,000 acres of lake and thousands more surrounding it, all ready to be explored through hiking trails, canoes, and more.

The visitor center is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Monday through Friday and camping ranges from $20 a night for utilities, $14 a night for primitive, and free camping during the off-season.
