New Hampshire might be known for having some of the best peaks to climb, but we’re not trying to be heroes over here. Maybe once in a while we’re up a for a big hike, but most of the time we just want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It’s a good thing the Granite State also happens to have some of the best simple hikes! This short waterfall hike in New Hampshire will lead you on a relaxing trail to one of the state’s most lovely attractions. It might not be at the top of most technical hiker’s lists, but it’s one of our favorites and think it might earn its way into your heart.
As with so many wonderful things in New Hampshire, our journey takes us to the White Mountains to the Glen Ellis Fall Trail.

There are a lot of reasons to love this hike, but one of them is how easy it is. Much of the walk is along this stone path.

There are two ways to see the falls. One is from the bottom and the other is via the stone stairs leading to the top.

Both views are great, but we also love the journey that follows the creek.

The falls themselves aren’t huge, but if you visit just after a large rain you might see them roaring.

From the bottom it’s easy to see the small lagoon fed by the falls. It’s clear and green, looking absolutely stunning in the summer sun.

The route is just under a half-mile, roundtrip.

The out-and-back trail is wonderful if you just want to take a break during the day, or if you plan on spending time looking at the falls.
