Here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we have more than a few incredible waterfalls. Some of our most popular parks, like Minnehaha and Gooseberry Falls, are centered on this very natural wonder. But what about Minnesota’s lesser-known waterfalls? There are many hidden spots in every corner of the state, including the southwestern prairie. That’s where you’ll find a hidden prairie waterfall that will show you a new side of Minnesota. Take a look:
Touch the Sky Prairie is a beautiful, little-known part of southwestern Minnesota. It’s just outside the small town of Luverne.

This northern tallgrass prairie covers hundreds of acres of land. It’s one of the most quietly beautiful places in Minnesota.

With waving grass surrounding you, you’ll feel like you’re far from Minnesota. This area is much unlike the thick woods of the north or the rocky river bluffs of the southeast.

Follow the gentle, 1.3-mile through the prairie and you will come across a small creek.
