The Hidden Beach At High Falls County Park In South Carolina Is Amazing

Summer in South Carolina brings with it a world of family-oriented activities including camping and swimming. In the Upstate, Lake Jocassee boasts a state park with access to one of the most pristine lakes around. But immediately to the south, at beautiful Lake Keowee, you’ll find four parks that provide access to this picturesque oasis, including the following park with a hidden beach you’re sure to love.

High Falls County Park, located an easy 10 miles northeast of Walhalla, doesn’t actually have a waterfall as the name implies, but it has oh-so much more!

The 46-acre county park has beachfront access to the 18,500 acres that make up Lake Keowee and its 300 miles of shoreline.

As most would expect from a county park, there are picnic shelters, playground equipment, trails, restroom facilities, two fishing piers, a boat launch, and more.

The best kept secret is the beach the locals would prefer to keep to themselves. Located at the very end of the park, it has a mostly level beach and a dedicated swimming are marked by bouys that keep the boats out and the people in.
