Although many of the hikes in the Catalina Island trail system are quite long and rated as hard, which obviously limits who is able to experience the hike, we have discovered one of the shortest and easiest trails that almost anyone can enjoy.

With a difficulty rating between easy and moderate, the Hermit Gulch Trail is a great place to start if you’re interested in exploring the area.

You’ll start the hike from the trailhead that can be accessed from the Wrigley Memorial and Botanic Garden located at 1400 Avalon Cyn Rd, Avalon, CA 90704.

And in less than two miles you’ll be treated to so much beauty it will take your breath away.
