If you’re looking for a way to immerse yourself in this gorgeous scenery, you might try a hike on the Chessie Nature Trail.

Measuring seven miles in length, this scenic rail-trail is situated along the former Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad path. As you hike, you can’t help but notice the gorgeous and peaceful scenery surrounding the trail.

For a majority of its length, the Chessie follows the Maury River. The ambiance of the flowing water will add even more magic to your outdoor adventure.

While it is open for public use, the trail doesn’t offer any sort of facilities, so visitors should plan accordingly. Be sure to pack water and keep on the lookout for ticks during warmer seasons.
