When it comes to enjoying the summer in Maine, there are a dizzying array of options. And between the beach, lakes and rivers it’s not hard to find a way to cool down when the mercury starts getting higher. If you live near the coast, you can always head east. But, getting to a sandy beach isn’t quite as easy if you’re looking for something inland. That’s why we love swimming holes. This is can be accessed by an easy hike and the journey is almost as good as the splash down!
The Cataracts Falls is one of the most lovely waterfalls in the state, but it also offers one of the best opportunities for a refreshing swim. Head to Oxford County to find it.
