Experience what just might be the most magical moment of the summer at the Oliver Outdoor Butterfly Release at the Moraine State Park Regatta, set for Sunday, August 4, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Guests can purchase a Monarch butterfly, which they can then release in honor of a loved one who is still here or who has passed away. You can also just release a butterfly for the experience.

A butterfly costs $10, and you can add a loved one’s name, which will be read out before the release, to it. (If you want to release a butterfly, you should pre-purchase one as there are a limited number of butterflies.)

On the evening of the butterfly release, you can release your butterfly in private or with the mass release, slated for 6 p.m.
