Though they are most known for their homemade pies, you can also get massive donut holes, cinnamon rolls, caramel rolls, and many other delicious baked goods. Red River Coffee, Treats, & Boutique/Facebook The old Soholt Bakery in the charming town of Mayville, ND serves up amazing donuts and is our next stop. They’ve been around for a whopping 100 years and continue to be a favorite for people far and wide. Their cake donuts are made from scratch and taste of it, too - delicious, homemade goodness! No matter what type of donut you like best, you’ll love Soholt’s.

Brent Gyuricza/Google Our final donut stop for the day before most of the bakeries start to close in the afternoon is Welch’s Bakery in Park River. Welch’s brings people in from miles around to try their fantastic donuts. Their donut twists are quite the favorite, but pretty much anything you get here will get you instantly hooked. They make for a great end to the donut day trip, and you’ll want to take at least a dozen home to enjoy afterwards.

By the end of this trip you’ll be wishing you could do it every day! North Dakota’s bakeries produce some downright tasty treats, that’s for sure. All the addresses of these places can be found on the trip map.
