The stunning Turtle River State Park, located near Arvilla, North Dakota, has incredible trails through this scenic river valley. One of the most enchanting is the Raven Ravine trail.

This trail is 2.53 miles long and meanders through a wooded area and down to the creek near the river. Begin your enchanting journey at the CCC Trail Head in the park.

Throughout the hike, you’ll be treated to plenty of beautiful flora. This is a great place to bring a camera for photos of the natural splendor that’ll surround you.

At different times of the year, you can expect to see plenty of gorgeous types of flowers and plants along with lots of wildlife. Deer and birds of prey are commonly seen. Turtles, of course, are also often spotted here.

There are multiple benches on the trail and it connects to a campground, playground, and an amphitheater, giving you a great tour of Turtle River State Park.

At the north end of the trail, there is a beautiful water crossing where you can listen to the flow of the river and enjoy the sights of the forest. It’s an absolutely magical experience that will get you in touch with nature - and it’s worth the walk.
