North Dakota’s official state fruit is the chokecherry, and this festival is entirely dedicated to them. Visit the city of Williston and check out all the fun, entertainment, and — of course — chokecherry-related food and activities. It’s a family fun summer event to celebrate a special part of the Peace Garden State.

On August 9th and 10th, 2019, the 13th annual Chokecherry Festival will be taking place in Williston, North Dakota. The event will feature tons of vendors, food, entertainment and lots of fun.

Live music will be held throughout both days while you enjoy a summer afternoon out with the family. A burger feed on Friday evening is a great dinner, and free ice cream with chokecherry syrup for dessert is the perfect followup!

Saturday will be packed with things to see and do from dawn until dusk. In the morning there will be a free pancake feed with chokecherry syrup. There will be a run for all ages and also Ultimate Air Dog competitions.

It doesn’t end there. Saturday will also have a classic car show and a kid zone with inflatables, games, and lots of other activities.

Feeling competitive? Join in on the cornhole tournament or chokecherry pit spitting contest. All the while there will be lots of vendors open to browse, a stunt team, and woodcarving demonstrations.
