To truly appreciate the natural beauty of Kentucky, get outside and hike its many trails! You don’t have to be an experienced hiker to enjoy the fresh air and scenery you’ll find on the Whittleton Branch Trail. It’s an easy-peasy hike that’s perfect for just about every member of the family.

Some of Kentucky’s most gorgeous scenery is found in Natural Bridge State Resort Park. For a fun, easy hike, take the Whittleton trail.

The trail is two miles long, and is considered easy, with an elevation change of only 331 feet. Allow yourself plenty of time to meander down this pretty trail and explore the waterfall ahead.

You’ll enjoy a shady, fairly level trail the entire way, surrounded by Kentucky’s iconic natural beauty. This trail is a great introduction to hiking for those who have never tried it.

The trail follows Whittleton Branch, a burbling little creek, nearly the entire way. The creek adds a nice element to the trail, and offers up a bubbly soundtrack.

Keep an eye out for some interesting flora here. These tree roots have found a way to wrap themselves right around the huge boulder that would otherwise block their growth.

You’ll soon come to a waterfall that gently splashes down from the huge cliff above.

While you’re on the Whittlebranch Trail, you’ll also have the option to take a .75-mile spur trail that leads to Whittleton Arch, a stunning arch that you won’t want to miss.
