Not only will this scenic trail take you through an enchanting forest, but you’ll also have some lovely water views along the way. Today, we’re heading into the Kisatchie National Forest to explore the Sugar Cane Trail. Let’s check it out:

Spanning across seven parishes, the Kisatchie National Forest is the only national forest in Louisiana.

There are dozens and dozens of hiking trails in the forest. If you find yourself near the Caney Lakes, you should venture down the Sugar Cane Trail.

The loop trail clocks in at roughly five miles and loops around Upper Caney Lake.
