There’s a picturesque mountain trail known as Story Book Trail that’s less than a mile round trip. And the views are out of this world! Adventurers of nearly all ability levels can enjoy this well-maintained trail near Luray, Virginia. So lace up those hiking boots and don’t forget your camera when you embark on one of the most beautiful mountain trails in the state.

Welcome to the Story Book Trail. This appropriately-named trail is comprised of wooden walkways, bridges, and pavement. It’s the perfect escape into nature that doesn’t require too much physical exertion.

The moment you begin the trail, you’ll find yourself completely surrounded by sheltering trees as you draw closer and closer to the scenic overlook. Since the trail is short, you can really spend time admiring your surroundings.
