Restaurants come and go but there are those tried-and-true spots that earn a cult-like following and stand the test of time. The Mountain State’s very first drive-thru restaurant opened its doors in 1932 and still has cars lining up around the corner today. Stewart’s Original Hot Dogs in its little orange roadside stand in Huntington has been tempting diners with their root beer and hot dogs for decades.
Believe it or not, Stewart’s Original Hot Dogs did not originally serve hot dogs in 1932. In their first year, the only menu items were root beer and popcorn, during their second year of operation, the legendary hot dogs were added to the menu.

Those hot dogs were topped with a mouth-watering chili sauce. Today, the closely guarded secret family recipe still adorns the dogs creating the stellar combination that keep diners coming back for more.
