The Oxford Saloon has been a local icon in Snohomish since 1910. The building was constructed in 1900 and used as a dry goods store before being converted into the saloon it is today. Needless to say, a lot has gone down between those walls, and not all of it has been pleasant. These days, it’s best known as one of Washington’s most haunted bars.
The Oxford Saloon sits right on 1st Street in historic downtown Snohomish.
R0bAlex / TripAdvisor The family-friendly eatery is open daily, with live music almost every night at 9 p.m.
The bar is almost always packed with patrons, both locals and visitors, who come to have a good meal, sip beer or wine, and enjoy the band.
Loodje64 / TripAdvisor The atmosphere is upbeat and friendly now, but that wasn’t always the case.

Nilli F / TripAdvisor One of the most documented murders here was that of Henry, a friendly police officer who may have been moonlighting as a bouncer. Henry was stabbed to death while breaking up a fight, and his ghost has been spotted hundreds of time. He’s known for poking and pinching the ladies, especially near the stairs and restrooms.
Many years ago, an entrepreneur named Kathleen decided to run a bordello upstairs. Sadly, during that time, one of her girls, Amelia, was found dead in a closet.

Katherine is seen as an older woman wearing a purple dress with purple bows.
The Oxford Saloon is so well known for its ghost stories, there’s a form on the website where patrons can write about their paranormal encounters.
Loodje64 / TripAdvisor The Washington State Ghost Society has performed several investigations here in the last 14 years, and they always pick up voices on their audio equipment.
Even if you don’t believe in ghosts, you might change your mind if you spend enough time here.
management / TripAdvisor From Henry the police officer to welcoming Kathleen and a ghostly bartender some have encountered, it’s obvious that The Oxford Saloon is hard to leave.
