Silver Lake Trail Is An Exhilerating Hike To A Beautiful Vermont Lake

Not all of Vermont’s natural wonders are found in plain sight. But Silver Lake is a less obvious wonder well worth finding. Often overshadowed by the nearby larger and more popular Lake Dunmore, this blue lake may take a little more effort to reach but it’s a locale you won’t want to miss. Take an exhilarating hike through the forest on the Silver Lake Trail to find the big payoff at the end of the path.

Silver Lake is located just east of the southern end of Lake Dunmore on Route 53 in Brandon. This natural wonder is part of the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area.

The hike to this gem in the forest is 5.3 miles and for the most part, is on wide open wooded paths.

A few portions of the trail have roots and rocks making it tricky footwork so make sure you have proper hiking footwear on.
