If there’s one thing El Reno, Oklahoma is known for it’s the Fried Onion Burger. Many places in town have become legends for perfecting this food item and one to put on your food radar is Sid’s Diner. This little burger joint has been making some of best fried onion burgers since 1989 and it’s definitely worth a visit.
Sid’s Diner is located at 300 South Choctaw Avenue in El Reno. Since opening in 1989 they’ve been famous for their fried onion burger.

Born during the Great Depression, the fried onion burger was created in El Reno, Oklahoma out of a necessity for saving money when times were tough. Onions were cheap and meat was expensive, so why not add more onions and less meat, the locals thought. Little did they know this burger would go on to become a national treasure and delight the bellies of fellow Americans almost a century later.
