Family vacations are great in a lot of ways, but it’s not always easy to relax with the whole clan hanging around. This bed and breakfast in Lincoln may be inside city limits, but when you’re staying there you’ll feel a million miles away from everything.
The Rogers House in Lincoln was built in 1914 as a retirement mansion for banker N.C. Rogers and his wife. After they passed, their daughter Virginia occupied the house until 1968. The house was used as a frat house for a few years, then became a home for people with intellectual disabilities for 10 years.

In 1983, new owners breathed new life into the beautiful old mansion. They renovated the building and restored it to its early-20th-century glory. Period-appropriate fixtures were installed, carpet and old wallpaper removed, and antique furniture was carefully placed around the home.
TripAdvisor/Warmwind016 The building has been declared a local historical landmark.
The result is a bed and breakfast that is just as comfortable as it is historic. The common areas are lovely places where you can sit and talk with other guests or just enjoy some quiet time with a good book.

After you spend a little time waking up, head down to the dining room where you’ll be served a fresh, two-course breakfast. You can expect to find fresh fruit, juice, and a hot entree on the table.

The house is a popular setting for weddings and other gatherings. Its central location makes it easy to get to, but the home is so serene that you could swear you’re staying in a small town.
