Many Kansans have German and Volga-German heritage, from the immigrants that moved here back when Kansas was a new place to settle and not an established state yet. Their food is filling, and feels like home even if you’ve never tried it before. There’s just something about these foods that make you feel like a kid again, when homemade meals were taken for granted. This new German restaurant in Kansas makes amazing meals from scratch, and you’ll taste the love in every bite.
Today, we’re headed to Revolutsia, a new strip mall in Wichita that was made of recycled shipping containers, making use of something that may have otherwise sat abandoned for a while.

One hidden gem in this amazing strip mall is Prost, a German restaurant that just recently opened up in 2018 and has been serving amazing food since their first day.

Between the appearance out front and the inside, you wouldn’t think this was an old, empty shipping container before. It looks like a brand new building, and smells like all of the best German foods you could eat. German foods and beer, of course.

Plenty of beer is consumed here, and you can even become a member of their club, getting your own personal stein to lock up on the wall and use on your visits. They filled up pretty quick, so if there is an empty spot that you want, you’d better get it fast!

Speaking of filling up fast, that’s exactly what you’ll be doing as you feast on these homemade German eats. Everything from flammkuchen, to schnitzel, to kiisekuchen. That might not have made sense to most of you, but I assure you that each creation is easier eaten than pronounced.

Every main course, side, and starter is homemade, and tastes like it came out of your grandmother’s kitchen. Plus, they have a few vegan options just in case you don’t care for meat.
