A visit to The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium is the perfect way to spend any day. The aquarium is open every day of the year, except for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

The 20 penguins that live here are Gentoo penguins that are typically found in the sub-antarctic. They’re about 30 inches tall and weigh from 11 to 19 pounds.

These adorable little creatures are waiting to meet you, and you can interact with them one-on-one at the Penguin Encounter.

Guests ages five and older can participate in this exciting encounter. First, you’ll learn all about Gentoo penguins and their behavior, diet, and survival skills in the wild.

Then, go behind the scenes to meet the penguins. They’ll waddle right through the door to greet you.

The penguin encounter lasts about 50 minutes, and it’s available Thursday through Tuesday at 1 p.m.
