The Land of 10,000 Lakes is full of unique roadside attractions. On a Minnesota road trip, you’d be hard-pressed to find a route that doesn’t include at least one giant fish or Paul Bunyan looming over the road. These roadside attractions are what makes Minnesota so fun to explore, and that’s why we’re so happy to share one of our favorite roadside attractions in the state. This sculpture park has dozens of works to explore, making it a great place to get out and stretch your legs on a Minnesota road trip. Here’s what you need to know:

Nyberg Sculpture Park is a little-known sculpture park in a tiny northern Minnesota town of Vining. It’s about 160 miles northeast of the Twin Cities, on 210 between Fergus Falls and Brainerd. Address: 6001 East Front Street, Vining, MN 56588.

It all started in 1991, when a large foot made by Ken Nyberg became a Vining landmark. Made out of 645 pieces of scrap metal, Big Foot weighs in at 1,240 pounds.

After the foot became so popular, many other sculptures were added to the park. For example, a 10-foot-tall elk took more than 200 hours to complete.

The 2,500-pound elephant was made from 988 pieces of metal.

The park has many other sculptures to marvel over. These quirky creations are often larger-than-life replicas of everyday objects.

The sculpture park is completely free to visit. Guests are welcome to get up close to the sculptures, a great opportunity to see how painstakingly they were created.
