Hop on the Nauset Marsh Trail for the best tour of this special spot. It winds along Salt Pond and the edge of Nausea Marsh, giving you jaw-dropping views all the way.

The trail will take you across fields of waving beach grass and unique coastal scrubs before leading you along a recovering forest. At the end, you’ll deposited back at the Salt Pond Visitor Center where you started.

This hike is rated as easy, so even small kids and older hikers will be able to manage just fine. There are some log steps to navigate, but most of the trail is nice and flat.

The marsh is also an unparalleled place to kayak. The smooth, glassy waters make for an afternoon of effortless gliding through the marsh.

Plan to spend about an hour out on the marsh. Though the main trail is just about 1.3 miles round-trip, you can add an extra hour to your journey if you take the 1.5-mile spur to Coast Guard Beach.
