Some of Mississippi’s most historic sites are also the most haunted – and that’s exactly the case with Linden Bed and Breakfast. The Natchez Inn dates all the way back to the 1700s! But its age isn’t what keeps people talking about Linden. Nope; it’s the variety of supernatural happenings that the hotel is most known for. Take a look:

A city rich in history, Natchez is full of wonderfully preserved sites from the past.

Among those sites is Linden Bed and Breakfast. Originally a residence, Linden dates back to 1785, when it was known as “Oaklands.”

Linden is now one of Natchez’s most popular inns. The home’s front door actually served as the inspiration for the front door of Tara in the movie “Gone with the Wind.”

But the front door is far from Linden’s only distinguishing characteristic. There’s also the plethora of ghost stories associated with the property.

Over the years, people have claimed to see a phantom horse-drawn carriage parked in the home’s driveway.

Visitors have also reported a noise, which sounds like someone tapping a cane, throughout the inn. But that’s not all.

Two apparitions, a man and a woman, are said to haunt the property. The man is often seen in a bedroom…

…while the woman has been seen jumping from the roof and disappearing into thin air before hitting the ground.
