Since then, it has gone through fires, the Great Depression, plenty of renovations, and even the set of a film called Paper Moon. Now owned by the Wilson Foundation, it has been back in business since 2003 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

However, this cheerful and historic spot comes with some hard to deny sightings of paranormal activity. It’s said that there is an orphaned girl haunting the third floor who knocks on doors, runs through the hallways, and jumps on your bed, leaving little footprints. Another third floor room is where a Sherriff was said to have been lynched, and sometimes the door is unable to be unlocked, even by the master key.

Ghostly figures have been seen at the top of the stairs and things in the kitchen have flown impossible distances. The staircase sightings as well as other happenings through the hotel have led some to believe that the fire that took lives back in 1902 helped establish the paranormal presence here.
