There are tons of great hiking trails in Mississippi, but the Lost Bluff Trail has got to be one of the best (and most unique). A must for avid hikers and history buffs alike, the 2-mile trail covers a range of terrains and leads to a Civil War fort. Take a look:
Located in Grenada, Lost Bluff Trail is a pretty tough trek – but it’s completely worth the effort since it features beautiful scenery, riverfront views, and a fort from the Civil War.

With lots of steep winding trails and steps, the 2.2-mile loop trail has an overall elevation gain of 344 feet, which is pretty rare in Mississippi, where most trails are relatively flat. .

Not long into the trek, you’ll come across a fort, which was built during the Civil War. There’s signage marking the historic spot along with some information about it.

The trail also includes access to overlooks, which offer great views of the spillway and Yalobusha River.
