From the 1950s to the 1980s, one man brought music into the homes of thousands of people across the United States. He was a TV legend known far and wide and his show is still aired on certain channels every week. That man is Lawerence Welk, and his roots are right here in North Dakota. To this day, his original birthplace is still preserved and intact, and you can visit it for yourself.

Strasburg, North Dakota is a small town of under 400 residents known for one thing: being the birthplace of TV and music legend Lawrence Welk.

The homestead has been kept preserved as it was back when Lawrence was growing up with seven siblings and his Germans-from-Russia immigrant parents, like many other early North Dakota families.
