L&A Family Farms in east-central Illinois is a small town family farm that hosts several activities throughout the year. None are more fun than its summer sunflower attraction.

This year, the sunflower maze opened July 17, 2019, and it will remain open as long as the flowers are in bloom. This could last into August and September.

The idea of the maze is to enter at one point and exit at another. There are dead ends along the way to throw you off, but just look at it as an opportunity to see more sunflowers.

The farm begins planting its flowers in mid-May and by June, the plants have grown enough that the design can begin to be cut. Once blooms appear on enough of the stalks, the farm opens the maze to the public.

In total, the farm is about 10 acres, and this sunflower maze takes up just about two of those acres. There is also a farm store and nature trails on-site.
