North Carolina is home to a variety of amusement and theme parks. From a free and faith-based theme park in the mountains (see it here) to a restaurant near the coast with its own Wild West park out back (see it here), amusement parks abound in the Tar Heel State and offer hours of fun to suit most everyone in the family. There aren’t many city-owned parks that have amusement rides in the state, though. If you have little ones in the family, pack up the car and head to this affordable miniature amusement park that’s perfectly sized just for the kiddos.

It’s located in the city of Burlington, a mere 25 miles east of Greensboro.

However, the amusement park area has its own convenient parking lot adjacent to the rides area.

In addition to a fun little ride featuring boats, and the little trucks ride seen in the photo above, the park rides also feature an airplane ride to thrill the little pilots in your family.

For the bigger kids (meaning you) a miniature train has seating for everyone in the family. The track rolls around the park and through a tunnel before returning passengers to the station.

A historic carousel is the main feature of the amusement park. It was built between 1906 and 1910 and is currently closed to undergo extensive restorations. It’s expected to reopen in 2021, according to the city’s website.
