Delaware is home to some of the best festivals on the East Coast! Not only do we bring Firefly Music Festival to town, but we’re known for charming springtime celebrations and historic events, too. The Dover Days festival is one of the longest running festivals around, and Delawareans have been celebrating our history with food and dancing on The Green for nearly a century.
Every year, tens of thousands of Delawareans gather for the Dover Days festival. The 86th rendition of the festival will be held May 4th, 2019.

Dover Days is one of the state’s longest running free events, and one of the largest festivals in Delaware. The parade kicks off the celebration of Delaware’s history, heritage, and culture.

Keep an eye out for the colonial, historic re-enactment groups. They’re here to represent those who fought in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

One of the most fun parts of the day is the May Day dance. Celebrate the beginning of spring with this centuries old tradition of dancing around the May Pole on the Green!

There are over 200 craft and food vendors to visit, along with a colonial artisan’s village, where you can pick up a hand woven basket and talk with historians about life in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Dover Days blends the old with the new in a way that will truly delight you. Many of Dover’s Amish come to sell goods and wares right in the heart of town.
