Arkansas may not be the first state that comes to mind when picturing world-renowned BBQ but we know the truth: one of our best kept secrets is the unbelievably mouthwatering BBQ places around the state. One of our favorites is tucked away in the small town of McGehee. What used to be an online cattle sale building is now a treasured BBQ joint. You could say the building has come full circle. Let’s take a seat at this delicious eatery and see what’s on the menu.

Hoots BBQ is a delicious (not so) best kept secret in McGehee.

There’s plenty of seating for whatever type of eating experience you’re wanting.

You can stick with a classic pulled pork sandwich and slaw for your first visit.

The sandwiches are tasty but so are the baked potatoes heaped with brisket or the Piggie Pie. The latter is a Frito chili pie but with a heavy-handed portion of pulled pork and barbecue sauce.

But, you need to be sure to explore the menu during your return trip.

This building may have seen more businesses to count, but you can bet Hoots BBQ will be around for decades to come.
