When most visitors seeking out a famous North Carolina waterfall head to Linville Falls, they’re so focused upon seeing the majestic waterfall known for having the highest volume of water of any of the falls in the Blue Ridge Mountains that they bypass another waterfall entirely. But there’s a side trail, only 0.2 mile long that leads to a gorgeous little waterfall set among lush, green surroundings. It’s a moss-covered oasis you’ll not want to miss the next time you’re at Linville Falls Visitor Center.
From the visitor center, Duggers Creek Falls is only a 10 minute walk. While the beloved Linville Falls is in one direction; Duggers Creek Falls is found by walking in the opposite direction.

You can’t miss it. It’s even listed at the TOP of the directional sign. Yet, most people are so focused on getting to the Linville Falls overlook that they skip this little waterfall altogether.

But don’t. It’s only 15 feet high (in comparison to the 150-foot drop seen at Linville Falls), yet it’s like a hidden oasis tucked away in a secret little cove.

Some people even make their way down to the creek level for another perfect view. Just watch your footing and beware of slippery rocks in and near the water.
