Utah is full of pretty parks. From small green spaces like this park right in downtown Salt Lake City, to larger parks like this one with a cool Wild West playground, there are plenty of places to get outdoors, breathe the fresh air, and burn off some energy. Every once in awhile, we run into a little park that we didn’t know existed, and we recently discovered this hidden gem in northern Utah County, You’ll definitely want to check out Highland Glen Park.

If you’ve never visited Highland Glen Park, it’s time to check it out. Head to Highland City, which is located in the northern part of Utah County, near Alpine.

This pretty park encompasses just 3.25 acres, but it packs plenty of recreation into its small space.

The fishing pond is stocked every year, so you might want to cast your line and try your luck.

There’s also a swimming area, so when the weather’s warm, wear your bathing suit and take the plunge. There aren’t any lifeguards on duty, so make sure to keep an eye on your little ones.

Bring your kayak and go paddling around. The lake is 17-18 feet deep, and large enough to explore.

Stand up paddle boarding is another popular activity, and a great way to spend the afternoon.

There’s a pavilion if you want to host a party or BBQ - it seats up to 100 people, so you can have an epic gathering right here in front of the pond.

The kids will enjoy burning off some energy on the playground…

…and you might want to take a walk or jog on the trail that circles the pond. 2.5 laps equal a mile.
