Cincinnati has been home to many firsts throughout history, and the city loves to celebrate these achievements and milestones. As a baseball-loving town, it’s no surprise that Cincinnati was the birthplace of the sport – the Cincinnati Red Stockings were the first professional team in the world! Baseball’s roots run deep in the Queen City, and this year, the team is celebrating its 150th anniversary. The Reds are holding many special events throughout the season to commemorate the occasion, but perhaps the most fun experience is the addition of the Mr. Redlegs Benches all around the city. Dozens of these statues and benches are now hiding all over Cincinnati and we’ll show you what to look for and where to find them.

The Cincinnati Reds - win or lose - is a legendary baseball team that started it all way back in 1869. As the first professional baseball team, our city has always had a big heart for this all-American sport.

And now that it’s 2019, that means the Reds are celebrating 150 years of home runs, strike outs, wins, losses, and countless memories made at the ball park. The celebration is taking place in many ways, and the team’s mascot, Mr. Redlegs, is a big part of the fun.

The Reds have placed 24 benches throughout the city and in the surrounding area. Each bench has the 150-year anniversary logo, as well as Mr. Redlegs himself.

The benches have been placed in meaningful spots around town, and they are all perfect for a photo op. Some spots are historic and legendary on their own, like Findlay Market, while others have meaning to the life of the team.

You’ll find these benches on every side of town, as he loves them all equally. This one is situated in front of the Madcap Education Center in Westwood.
