We would like to take this opportunity to make an official statement: Colorado is hands down the best place to live and everyone should move here. Wait… on second thought, maybe it isn’t quite perfect. To be fair, no place is perfect, and with every positive comes a negative, so let’s weigh out the pros and cons:
Reason #1 to live here: All of our cities are exciting and drop-dead gorgeous.
Flickr/Keith Denver. Colorado Springs. Fort Collins. You name it, it’s totally picturesque!
Reason #1 not to: Since our cities are so exciting, you can become overwhelmed and burned out.
Flickr/Wally Gobetz Wait… you’re telling me there is a Rockies game, Oktoberfest, AND show playing at the Buell Theater all on the same day? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!
Reason #2 to live here: Our sunrises are actually worth waking up to see.
Flickr/Michael Levine-Clark I am not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination, but I still set my alarm to experience this colorful side of Colorado.
Reason #2 not to: You are going to be getting less sleep.
Flickr/AJ Schroetlin Sunrise schmunwise. If you’re cutting into my 12 hours of sleep, it isn’t even worth it… right?
Reason #3 to live here: We have the mountains, dessert, AND plains.
Flickr/Robert Cross What can we say? The Colorado landscape is interesting and diverse!
Reason #3 not to: Our scenery will spoil you for life.
Flickr/Michael Levine-Clark ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Reason #4 to live here: Colorado is a foodie’s paradise.
Flickr/Gloria Bell Beau Jo’s pizza, insanely good green chile, and locally brewed beer… say no more - I’m there.
Reason #4 not to: Too much good food and beer can be a bad thing too.
Flickr/Dave Shea You know what homemade green chile and local beer are good for? Heartburn and hangovers!
Reason #5 to live here: Recreational marijuana is legal.
Flickr/Jeffrey Beall If you like to partake, welcome!
Reason #5 not to: Recreational marijuana is legal.
Flickr/Katheirne Hitt Everyone seems to feel one way or the other about legal marijuana, so it can be good or bad depending on who you talk to.
Reason #6 to live here: Colorado has a well-known team for virtually every sport.
Flickr/Keith Allison Baseball, basketball, football, soccer… the gang is all here!
Reason #6 not to: They will probably lose.
Flickr/Mark Mauno …minus the Nuggets, of course! (Prove us wrong next season, Broncos and Rox!)
Reason #7 to live here: There is so much to see and do outside.
Flickr/Andreas Kambanis Whether you are hiking, skiing, or casually strolling around your neighborhood, you are guaranteed only the best outdoor recreational activities here in Colorado.
Reason #7 not to: You will get sunburned and your legs will hurt.
Flickr/James Tiffin Jr. I’m not looking for reasons to keep people out of Colorado… you are.
Final verdict: Colorado is amazing. Even the “cons” don’t stand a chance against the wonderful, positive reasons to come to Colorado – we wouldn’t live anywhere else?
